How d how did The wrens balance their caps?

A good fitting cap will fit tightly (not overly tight though) and shouldn't move when marching. As far as I know, female junior sailors wear there caps the same way as males so there shouldn't be any problems. Their hair also shouldn't be a problem as "The bulk of hair must not interfere with the correct wearing of the headdress".
