How best can non-resident Indians participate in India's political, economic and spiritual progress?

I am seeking a broad-based approach involving practical ways to involve non-resident Indians of all ages and backgrounds in various progress-oriented activities to help India. These may involve educational, charitable, entrepreneurial, social, religious and other areas. Although numerous such endeavors are already in operation, there is scope for a renewed and concerted effort to mobilize additonal large numbers of non-resident Indians who are very resourceful and willing to help but nonetheless lack initiative and guidance.
