Does anyone know what this movie/ doentary is?

I remeber seeing it when I was younger I dont remember if it was a show, movie(doubt it) doentary or something on unsolved mysteries. It was kinda a mix between Signs and The Blair Witch project. It was about this family or group of people stuck in a house and aliens are about to invade or something like that and they caught one in the attic. It was filmed with a handheld video camera. I remember a couple of parts like someone going out to get like a shotgun but he never comes back and they find the shot gun twisted in a knot or something and then they had a shot of two of the 'aliens' walking towards the house together. The camera turns to a little girl and she says 'Its ok, daddy." or something like that. It looked real but Im not sure if it was but I remember seeing it a long time ago on and it really creeped me out and Im not sure what happened to it. If someone could tell me what it was, I would be so greatful because Ive asked around and searched for it but NEVER could find it
