Am I Being A Lousy Parent Here???

Ok so my son had this project on aviation that he was given at the beginning of November well Jauary rolls around and he still hadn't handed it in. He said it was too hard but he never told us about the project until the day before it was due and we were left helpless to help him. Well now he has a speech that is due on February 8th and he has had this project for 2 weeks and has yet to start it. We have 2 full sets of encyclopedias and access to the interenet so researching his topic for his speech shouldn't be hard. His speech is on video games and what kid doesn't seem to know everything on video games. Anyway he sat at our kitchen table for 15hrs and did nothing. I ket asking ;how's the speech comin along' and he would say i'm working on it and i think i'm almost done yet he did nothing at all, not one word on paper. I yelled at him because i felt he was failing which makes me feel like a failure, but i think he was just bein lazy about it
